Jesus Is My Best Friend

At a fancy-schmancy dinner party,

crystal high rise hotel.

Looked like a bunch of elderly penguins,

smiling and laughing, toasting themselves.

And though I was not invited,

I just strolled right in.

And when asked if on the Guest List,

I said “No, but I see a friend”.

Jesus Is My Best Friendster,

and he is everywhere.

Gonna guide your groom,

put birth in your bride…

and I don’t think that he’d really care.

If I danced here for a little while,

drank a glass or two.

Jesus Is My Best Friend,

it oughta’ be the same for you.

Some are buds with Buddah,

and I think that is fine.

They squat right down and sit in knots,

try so hard to look into their minds.

And some are soft on Stalin,

dress like bears with their little red pins.

But a hammer and a sickle,

were never anybody’s friend…

Jesus is my Best Friend,

and He is everywhere.

He knows the thoughts inside my head,

and I’m never alone, cause he’s always there.

Jesus is my best friend,

It’s always been that way.

Jesus is my Best Friend.

Hear what he’s gotta’ say.

Jesus once got me week’s detention

back at my High School.

Talking too loud and using his name,

They said I was breaking all kinda’ rules,

But they don’t understand,

with their Monkey-Darwin diatribe.

I don’t gotta’ kneel or purse my hands.

We talk whenever we like.

Jesus is my Best Friend,

And he is everywhere.

Knows the thoughts inside my head,

And I’m never alone, cause he’s always there.

And Jesus is my best friend.

It’s always been that way.

Jesus is my Best Friend.

Hear what he’s gotta say.

Jesus is my Best Friend,

and he is everywhere.

He knows the thoughts inside my head,

And I’m never alone cause he’s always there

And Jesus is my best friend,

It’s always been that way.

And Jesus is my best friend

I got nothing else to say.
